Oklahoma BBF Partners with the Seed Company to Translate the Bible

The OK BBF met on August 8, 2023, at Heritage Baptist Church in Edmond, OK, hosted by pastor Steve Rains. The theme of the meeting was “Famous Last Words.” Preachers for the meeting included Ray Rhoton, pastor of Bethel Community Church in Yukon, OK, Marty Hughes, pastor of Grace Harbor Church in Grove, OK, and Linzy Slayden, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso, OK. Rhoton’s message was on the last words of Joseph in Genesis 50. Hughes’ message was on Stephen’s last words in Acts 7. Slayden’s message was on the last words of Paul in II Timothy 4.

In addition to the normal schedule, two representatives from Seed Company, Amanda George and Margaret Stegall, were present to receive a symbolic check in the amount of $91,344 that the churches of the OK BBF gave to provide Bibles in the native language of the Manyika people group in Africa. The pastors are working on a plan to visit this people group in Africa to present to them a completed Bible in their heart language.

Marcia Rains hosted the ladies of the OK BBF at the Inspirations Tea Room and Eatery in Edmond for a time of fellowship and lunch.
