A Season of Trust

Learning to Trust God in Every Step of the Journey

As a missionary with my husband, Jordan, on deputation to raise our prayer and financial support, there have been many joys, and there have been countless moments of seeing the Lord go before us as we prepare to move to Argentina as church planters. In many ways, this season of encouraging churches in missions and partnering with them has taught me to trust the Lord more deeply. I have learned that no matter where I am, the Lord sees and cares for the details in my life, and that is true for each one of us.

In this unique season of deputation, we have the blessing of traveling across America to spend time with faithful people in their local churches that love the Lord and want to see the Gospel spread around the world. We have seen church families come alongside us in ways I could never have imagined, and the Lord has used these sweet people to remind us that we are all called to be part of the Great Commission wherever the Lord has called us to be.

Through the care of these precious people, I have learned again and again that the Lord not only sees us but also goes before us. There is nowhere any of us could go where we would be out of His sight. I am grateful that He has used deputation to teach me this in new ways, and it has been a special time to trust Him and see His provision.

One unique way the Lord has shown me His care has also been through how He has gone before us in our schedule and in the details of the things on our hearts. One of the greatest examples of this was in November of 2025 when my precious Nana and Papa, who served the Lord faithfully, went home to be with Jesus. During that month, we were scheduled to come to multiple churches and encourage them in missions, but there were two Wednesdays that continually remained available, no matter how many times we tried to schedule them. However, it was during those weekdays that my grandparents passed, and it was so evident to me that the Lord was giving us the blessing of time to grieve their passing, rejoice in the fact that they are now fully healed with Christ, and prepare for their Celebration of Life service.

Another way I have seen the Lord go before us has been in His provision as we travel, and one of many examples happened in the first month of deputation. Just a few weeks into our time on the road, our well-loved vehicle had broken down twice in two different states, and we knew that our car would not last much longer. We also knew that on deputation, a reliable vehicle is crucial for traveling safely to different churches. Jordan and I prayed about what to do in this situation, and we shared our circumstances in our Prayer Letter, asking people to pray alongside us that we would find another vehicle to sustain us for the rest of deputation. Within a few weeks of sending out our Prayer Letter, the Lord blessed us with the exact vehicle we were looking for within our budget.

I have also seen the Lord go before us as He has allowed us to encourage families to be involved in the Great Commission and to be excited about missions. Jordan and I wrote a kids’ book that we share at churches called Frankie and Lynn Reaching Argentina, and it tells our true story of becoming missionaries from the perspective of two bears. As we teach it in kids’ ministries, we emphasize that no matter where God has placed us, He has surrounded each of us with people to share Jesus with. Through sharing our book with kids and families, people have told us that their child now wants to be involved in missions, and it is a joy to see the next generation catching the vision for how God can use them for His glory.

I wish I could share every story of seeing the Lord provide, caring for the details in our lives, and allowing us to encourage families, but it is a treasure to me to have a front-row seat to seeing God show me new ways to trust Him. He has taught me that He cares not only about the big moments of surrender, but also the small moments that only our kind Heavenly Father would notice. What a kind God we serve. When we trust Him in surrender, whatever that may be, He is faithful.

For Jordan and me, surrendering to Him in this season looks like preparing to move to Argentina so we can start churches and train Argentines for the work of the ministry. We could not be more excited to serve the Lord in this way, but living surrendered to the Lord did not start when we were approved as BBFI missionaries. For me, it started by wanting my neighbors, friends, and classmates in my community in Sugar Land, Texas, to know Jesus. It started in the quiet moments of walking with Christ and trusting Him to provide over the years.

In each of our lives, the Lord is calling us to surrender to Him. We would encourage you to lay down in your life whatever He places on your heart, so you can also see the beauty of His provision and trust Him all the more. Trusting Him is not always easy, and for us, there are moments when we recognize that leaving our family and friends to go to a new country is going to have its challenges, but we know that serving the Lord with everything we have is more than worth the joy of seeing Argentines get saved, be discipled, and reach others with the Good News of the gospel. Looking back when we started deputation, God has shown me in deeper ways than ever before that serving the Lord, in whatever He calls you to do, is worth it. There truly is no greater joy than being in the center of God’s will, and I pray that as you seek to serve Him, you remember the joy of trusting Him.
