When tragedy strikes in Latin America, churches often become the hands and feet of Christ long before other aid arrives. Following the recent earthquakes in Venezuela, one BBFI church has already mobilized to bring practical help and Gospel hope to those affected.
Global Church in Miami, Florida, under the leadership of Pastor Russell Johnson, has become a strategic hub for relief efforts. Because of the church’s unique connections and location, they are positioned to respond quickly to the growing needs in Venezuela.
God has already assembled the right people for this ministry. A member of Global Church who specializes in shipping to Venezuela is coordinating the logistics, while a former pastor and his wife—who are from the region most affected by the earthquake—are helping oversee the relief effort. Together with volunteers from the church, they are using the church’s facilities to receive, sort, repack, and ship literally tons of much-needed supplies directly into the affected areas.
Global Church has committed the first $7,000 to cover shipping costs, but the need continues to grow. Their prayer is that churches across the country will help replenish the shipping fund so that relief can continue for as long as God provides supplies and open doors.
Rather than sending aid through large organizations, Global Church is partnering directly with trusted churches throughout Venezuela. These local congregations will receive the shipments and distribute the supplies within their own communities, allowing both physical assistance and the love of Christ to reach families in need through local churches.
This is an opportunity for BBFI churches to participate in a meaningful and effective way. While not every church can travel to Venezuela, every church can have a part in strengthening those who are serving on the front lines.

Please also remember to pray for the pastors, churches, volunteers, and families affected by this disaster, that God would provide strength, protection, and many opportunities for the Gospel to be proclaimed as relief is distributed.
