On Sunday, April 3, 2022, Sonrise Baptist Church in Ozark, MO, celebrated its 20th anniversary. The day included celebrating the past through many photos and retelling the stories of the early years, a photo booth, a special gift to all in attendance, and a lunch following the worship service. Sonrise Baptist Church was a church plant out of Cherry Street Baptist in Springfield, MO. The founding pastors were twin brothers Kevin and Craig Carson along with Wayne Slusser.
Kevin Carson shared, “We praise God and rejoice in our worship of God, our celebration of friends, the many lives changed, the many prayers answered our service to our community, and our shared lives.” He adds, “Our goal as a church has always been to love God supremely and love our neighbor sincerely.”
Kevin Carson also serves as the Chair of the Biblical Counseling Department at Baptist Bible College. Craig Carson also serves as the assistant superintendent of the Ozark School District.
