On February 1-2, Friendship Baptist Church and Linzy Slayden hosted their annual Beast Feast and Life Skills Event with a theme of “Overcome.” This was their 21styear of hosting the event. Barry White, pastor of Park Valley Church in Haymarket, VA was the keynote speaker and spoke to over 1,100 men on Friday night. Slayden shared, “He brought great messages to challenge our men. We had 16 saved and a dozen rededicate their lives to the Lord to be better men, fathers, husbands, and servants of the Lord.” In addition to White’s messages, the event includes a dinner on Friday night, which included over a ton of meat (literally over 2,000 pounds), multiple breakout sessions Saturday morning.
This year’s breakout speakers included: Jon Slayden, Tracy Roby, Ray Adams, Don Baier, Randy Harp, Dennis Jennings, Ray Rhoton, Russell Kirkpatrick, Andy Plunk, Shane Peters, Marty Hughes and Lance Harrington.
