City Church of Boulder, CO held their first preview service Sunday, September 30, 2018 with 55 attending. Drake Elkins, an APEX approved church planter, is the lead pastor. His sending church is Alliance Baptist Church of Fort Worth, TX pastored by Terry Kizer. City Church Boulder is currently hosting multiple interest parties and monthly preview services with a goal of building a launch team of 50 people.
In addition to hosting their first preview service they also held their first baptism service in the “freezing cold” Boulder Creek. Elkins states, “We couldn’t have asked for a better start for our church.” Their second preview service is scheduled for October 28.
