On July 23, 2023, Randy and Deanna Abell celebrated their 20th anniversary at Heartland Baptist Church in Ames, Iowa, with over 600 people in attendance, including many special guests.
In March of 2003, a group of approximately 20 people voted and asked Abell to be their new pastor after the previous pastor had told them that he had “closed” the church. That group anxiously awaited Randy and Deanna’s return to begin leading them, which occurred in July 2003.
Now, after twenty years of prayer and hard work, the Lord is still blessing and allowing the ministry to grow as people are saved, baptized, and discipled.
