Korea Global Meeting March 14-17, 2016

by Jon Konnerup

We will be given an amazing opportunity to view the broader scope of the BBFI. We will meet people and pastors from all over the world whose lives have been eternally impacted through the ministries of our missionaries and the churches who sent them. We are part of something enormous that God is doing worldwide, and this meeting will help all who attend to realize this fact.

BBFI missionaries Isaac and Jane Foster first went to Korea in November 1954 and began to lead people to faith in Jesus Christ, disciple them, and start churches. During the next ten years they were joined by the Baskin, Patrick, Whicker, Chiles, Shiver, and Lasater families. Through the efforts of these servants of God, many more people came to know Jesus as Lord. It wasn’t long before more families joined the evangelistic efforts and Koreans began to surrender to fulltime ministry. Today, over 250 Korea BBF churches are preaching the Gospel all over Korea. They are also sending their own missionaries around the world. At this meeting you will have the opportunity to meet many people who are the fruit of these efforts.

A personal welcome from Korea

It is our great joy and privilege to host the Baptist Bible Fellowship International Global Meeting, March 14-17, 2016, in Korea. It will be the time for those who have the same faith around the world to gather together, encourage each other, and renew the Great Commission our God committed to us. So we welcome all of you, pastors, missionaries, and Christian workers, to Korea!

The fruit of the BBFI mission work in Korea and other countries is that they used to be mission fields, but now they have become sending fields, sending out missionaries to unreached people of the world. This makes world missions what God meant it to be. Also, as you come to Korea, you will experience Korean culture and tourism, such as the DMZ, King’s palaces, Folk Village, and City Tour. Not only will you experience Korean culture, but you will also be able to see what cross-cultural missionary work is all about. We will do our best to host all of the BBF groups from various countries. We have great expectations for the Global Meeting that we will have wonderful fellowship, encouragement, and strength to do more for the Lord’s Harvest.
