On April 29, 2018, Park Crest Baptist Church in Springfield, MO ordained their student pastor, Blake Housley, into the gospel ministry. The ordination council, made up of several of Housley’s closest mentors, included his father, Phil Housley, Jerry Thorpe, Greg Christopher, Eddie Lyons, Keith Gillming, Jim Edge, Terry Wallace, Craig Stephenson, Linzy Slayden and Brandt Leich. After a period of questioning, Jerry Thorpe preached the charge. Housley plans to continue his role as student pastor at Park Crest with a goal of one day planting a church.
