BBFI Missionary, Boyd Lyons, Installed as a Director for the Global Missionary Clearinghouse

Manila, Philippines

On May 30, during the third-anniversary celebration of the Global Missionary Clearinghouse, veteran BBFI missionary Boyd Lyons was installed as a director. Lyons has pastored Baptist Bible Church in Manila for 53 years. It is estimated that the 84-year-old has been a part of helping start over 300 churches. He now hopes to use his influence to further promote missions and the sending of Filipinos to foreign mission fields. GMC president, Greg Lyons, says of his father, “His wisdom and influence will exponentially move the great commission forward.”

The Global Missionary Clearinghouse has 80 missionaries serving in eight different countries, including multiple creative access nations. GMC also hosts an annual mission conference known as the Win Our World (WOW) conference at the Rawlings’ Foundation’s Highlands Camp averaging 1,300 over the past three years. This year they held their first regional WOW conference just north of Manila with over 1,200 in attendance. The WOW conferences teach churches to be more involved in the sending aspect of missions and provide a vehicle for quicker fundraising opportunities for the missionaries.
