October 23-24 Randy Abell and Heartland Baptist Church in Ames, IA, hosted the Iowa BBF meeting. Pastors from Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas,
and Missouri attended. The theme of the meeting was local church outreach with keynote speakers Keith Gillming, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in St. Louis, MO, and David McIntosh, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Muscatine, IA. Along with breakouts on outreach ideas, church websites, social media, and welcome ministries, Abell challenged each pastor to pair up with another pastor and gave them a quiz on their church’s website and Facebook page. Each guest was given a gift bag of outreach books, a copy of Outreach magazine, and several local favorites such as Iowa popcorn, beef jerky, honey, and more.
