Good news from a church planter

by Wayne Guinn

I’m still rejoicing in the afterglow of the January Church Planting School in San Antonio, TX. We had an outstanding group of church planters, and among those was 29-year-old Brent Cunningham, along with his wife Whitney and young son Rhett. Let me share the result of their recent church plant in Amelia, OH, a suburb of Akron. Here is a portion of a letter we received from him:

I can describe the month of March with one word, WOW!! The Lord has been moving in Amelia, OH.

Pre-Launch

March 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th we held our pre-launch services to allow the community a chance to come check Bridgeway out. We had a good response with over 50 visitors and an average attendance of 53 from the area.

Launch

The night before our Easter Sunday launch day, I was praying and asked the Lord to fill the auditorium and allow us to see people saved for His glory. God does answer prayer!!! Every seat in the auditorium was filled, we overflowed into the foyer and the fellowship hall. The parking lot was filled and we had to shuttle people from the Wal-Mart parking lot. When everything was said and done we had 240 in attendance with three precious souls trusting Christ as Savior.

The Lord continues to blow us away by what He is doing. The month of April we averaged 102 with over 40 first-time visitors and two saved!
