Get to Know … Tim Adrian

First in a series introducing the new BBFI national officers.

Tim Adrian is the president of the BBFI. Take a few minutes and get to know him a little better.

  1. Where did you grow up? What is your favorite childhood memory?
I grew up in Kansas and Colorado.  My favorite memory was ditching school on numerous occasions  so that I could go snow skiing with my dad.
  2. When/where did you get saved? When/where did you surrender to ministry?
I was saved at Glenville Baptist in Wichita, KS. as a young child.  I surrendered to ministry as a high school student at East Side Baptist Church in Denver, CO.  God used various church staff members, camp speakers and pastors to challenge me. Obviously my parents influence was huge.
  3. When/where did you go to Bible college? What is your favorite college memory?
I graduated from Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College in 1979.  Best college moment was meeting my wife Pam.  I can’t remember ever getting in trouble while at college…. Seriously, can’t remember.
  4. Prior to your current church, where have you served in ministry? (What role at each place?)
First Baptist – Hollywood, CA as youth pastor
Mountain States Baptist – Denver, CO as youth pastor
Glenwood Baptist – Kansas City, MO as youth pastor
We planted two churches (Chandler, AZ & Aurora, CO)
  5. Where do you currently serve? (How long, ministry roles, etc.)
Westside Baptist – Hutchinson, KS as lead pastor since 1997
  6. Share about your family.
Pam and I have been blessed with three great children.  All love, follow and  serve God. Kristen is married to Travis and she works in the banking industry in Kansas. Rachel is married to Chase and she is an elementary school teacher in Kansas.  Matt is married to Jenn and he is a pastor in California.  We have 5 world class grandchildren and more coming soon.
  7. Where is your favorite place to vacation?
    Vail Colorado and Southern California
  8. What are your favorite hobbies?
Watching College Basketball. Creative writing.  Numismatics.
  9. What is your all-time favorite book (other than the Bible)? Favorite book read within the past year?
For fun, I try to read anything by John Grisham and David McCullough.
Most impactful book over the past year: Church Unique by Will Mancini
  10. What has God taught you recently?
God wants to do more through us than we can possibly imagine.  He continues to prod us to take steps of faith, decisions of self-sacrifice, and moments of Holy Spirit empowerment so that we might glorify Him.
