The Michigan Baptist Bible Fellowship met on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Beacon Baptist Church in Taylor, Michigan, where John Reilly and his church family graciously hosted pastors from across the Detroit metro area and throughout the state. The gathering marked another encouraging moment for the MIBBF as attendance continues to grow and momentum builds across the region.
Randy Harp, director of the BBFI Central Office, served as the featured speaker for the day. His visit was especially timely as many pastors involved at the state level have expressed a desire for a clearer and broader understanding of the national BBFI structure, mission, and ministries. Harp led two primary sessions, followed by a Q&A time and a state business meeting.
The first session, titled “What is the BBFI?”, walked pastors through several foundational areas, including “The Biblical Basis for Fellowship,” “What is the BBFI,” “Why You Should Be Involved in the BBFI,” and “What a Healthy State Fellowship Looks Like.” The goal was to strengthen clarity, unity, and partnership among Michigan pastors as they continue to serve and lead together.
The second session focused on “Concerning Trends in the Church Today.” Harp addressed a number of cultural and ministry challenges that churches are navigating, including theological drift and doctrinal compromise, the softening of biblical authority, pressures created by technology and the digital age, generational shifts, and several pastor-specific concerns that affect long-term health and effectiveness in ministry.
Following the sessions, the group engaged in a helpful Q&A time before transitioning into the business meeting. Positive reports were shared regarding the recent national BBFI meeting in Tyler, Texas, as well as the encouraging momentum taking place across the Fellowship nationwide.
The meeting concluded with a luncheon provided by Beacon Baptist Church, giving pastors additional time to connect, encourage one another, and discuss how to apply what they had learned.
If your State Fellowship would like to invite Randy Harp to present on either of these topics, please contact the BBFI Central Office at raharp@tribune.org.
