A Legacy of Impact. A Future of Possibility.

Reflecting on the 2025 BBFI National Fellowship Meeting

Every movement worth remembering is marked by two realities: the impact it has made in the past and the possibilities it carries into the future. The 2025 BBFI National Meeting theme, “A Legacy of Impact. A Future of Possibility,” perfectly captured both realities.

A Legacy of Impact

For seventy-five years, the Baptist Bible Fellowship International has stood as a testimony of what God can do when churches, pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders unite around the gospel. From its founding in 1950, BBFI churches have been faithful to the Great Commission. Thousands of missionaries have been sent around the world, countless pastors have been trained, and millions have heard the message of salvation through Christ because of this Fellowship.

Our history is not simply a collection of names and dates; it is a story of faithfulness. Churches were planted across America when communities were desperate for hope. Missionaries traveled to far corners of the globe when few others were willing to go. Bible colleges were established to prepare the next generation. Leaders have carried the gospel with courage in seasons of prosperity and in seasons of trial.

This legacy is not ours alone; it belongs to Christ, who promised, “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” The impact of the BBFI has been significant, and we give glory to God for His faithfulness through the decades.

A Future of Possibility

But legacy is not enough. We do not honor our past by simply looking backward; we honor it by carrying the mission forward. If our Fellowship has a legacy of impact, it must also embrace a future of possibility.

What does that future look like?

  • Churches revitalized and planted. In a culture where typical church attendance is declining and biblical authority is often questioned, we see the possibility of churches coming alive again. Churches that preach Christ, disciple believers, and engage their communities with the gospel.
  • Missionaries continuing the global work. The nations are still waiting. We celebrate every missionary sent, but we must also recognize the open doors God is placing before us. New languages, new cities, and new regions of the world present fresh opportunities for the gospel to advance.
  • Leaders raised up and equipped. The next generation of pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders will shape the Fellowship’s future. They are watching how we live, serve, and lead today. If we invest in them, mentor them, and empower them, the future possibilities are limitless.
  • Partnerships strengthened. Our Fellowship was built on cooperation, and its future depends on the same. Churches partnering with churches, pastors encouraging pastors, and missionaries supported by the entire network, this is the foundation of continued impact.

A Call to the Present

The theme reminds us that we stand at a crucial moment. We cannot rest on yesterday’s victories, nor can we simply dream about tomorrow’s possibilities. The future is shaped by the choices we make today.

Scripture urges us to “press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” That pressing is not passive. It requires determination, sacrifice, and unity. Each pastor who faithfully preaches the Word, each church that sacrificially supports missions, each leader who invests in the next generation, these are the actions that carry us from legacy into possibility.

Together, as one Fellowship, we can honor our past by seizing the opportunities of the present and advancing boldly into the future. Click To Tweet

The BBFI has a legacy of impact that deserves to be celebrated. We thank God for those who came before us, those who planted churches, sent missionaries, and built ministries that still bear fruit today. But celebration without continuation falls short.

Now we are called to look forward. A future of possibility is before us if we are faithful to the task. Together, as one Fellowship, we can honor our past by seizing the opportunities of the present and advancing boldly into the future. A legacy of impact. A future of possibility. May those words not only serve as a conference theme, but as a challenge to every church, every pastor, and every believer in the Baptist Bible Fellowship International.
