What BBC Taught Me

by Mark Milioni

I love Baptist Bible College. I am so thankful for the education I received here. I became the senior pastor of my home church, First Baptist Church of Albion, MI, only three months after my BBC graduation. I was only 25, but because of the education I received at BBC, I could stand and defend my faith, feed the sheep, and protect the flock.

Because I had Ecclesiology, I could lead my church in the face of those who did not believe in an independent, autonomous, pastor-led church.

Because I had Soteriology, I was able to withstand those who came to our church with both hyper-Calvinistic and Armenian theology.

Because I had Personal Evangelism, I was able to share the Gospel clearly.

Because I had Homiletics, I was able to clearly expound the Scriptures. Because I had Pneumatology, I was able to explain the Scriptures to charismatics who came to my church.

Because I had great training from experienced, qualified professors and pastors, I was given an example of hard work and great preaching.

It was at BBC I developed a love for learning. I learned how to study God’s Word, how to dig deep, and how to listen to what God was teaching me. This love for learning has driven me to continue my education and now has afforded me the opportunity to pour back into the lives of young students.

God used all I learned at BBC to equip me for success in ministry and has impacted my life and ministry every day. I am now privileged to serve this great institution as president. It is my greatest prayer that this tradition of excellence will be found in the leaders training to reach the next generation for Christ.
