Get to Know … Jon Haley

Second in a series introducing the new BBFI national officers.

Jon Haley is the 1st vice president of the BBFI (1st VP works with the BBFI missions ministry). Take a few minutes and get to know him a little better.

  1. Where did you grow up? What is your favorite childhood memory?
    I grew up in Arkansas City, KS.  I lived in Ark City from age 1-15
    Catching a foul ball at Kaufman Stadium on the second deck when I was about 11.
  2. When/where did you get saved? When/where did you surrender to ministry?
    I surrendered to ministry at a camp in Kansas when I was about 10 years old.
    I confirmed my salvation at Brownwood youth camp when I was 17 years old.
  3. When/where did you go to Bible college? What is your favorite college memory.
    I attended BBC in from 1991-1995. I graduated in May of 1995
    I loved playing intramural sports.  The greatest memory was when I proposed to my wife. (not on campus)
  4. Prior to your current church, where have you served in ministry? (What role at each place?)
    1995-1997 Woodcliff Baptist Church Austin, Texas – Youth Pastor
    1997-2010 Hallmark Baptist Church Ft. Worth, Texas – Youth Pastor / Family Pastor
    2010-2016 Northside Baptist Church Arkansas City, Kansas – Lead Pastor
  5. Where do you currently serve? (How long, ministry roles, etc.)
    2016-Present Hallmark Baptist Church Ft. Worth, Texas – Lead Pastor
  6. Share about your family?
    Joy and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary on July 31, 2018.  We have two children. Blake will be entering his senior year at BBC in August of 2018. Blaire will be entering her freshmen year at BBC in August of 2018.
  7. Where is your favorite place to vacation?
    Anywhere with my family. Florida is a destination we have been on more than once so I guess Florida wins out.
  8. What are your favorite hobbies?
    Golf, working out, basketball
  9. What is your all-time favorite book (other than the Bible)? Favorite book read within the past year?
    All-time favorite: RISK by Kenny Luck.
    This year: Forgotten Jesus – Robby Gallaty
  10. What has God taught you recently?
    God doesn’t always define MORE the same way I do. This is in the context of our church praying Ephesians 3:20 for this year.  Asking God to do MORE than we could ask or think.
    Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Ephesians 3:20
